The black is certainly different than the rest of the boats in the marina with their sky blue hulls. I am tempted to paint a skull and crossbones on the fin - I'll know it's there, that's all that counts. When she finally gets put back in her element this weekend, she will have had the following done to her:
Scraped, sanded, and faired below the waterline. The one thing I didn't authorized was a replacement of the shaft. There was corrosion under the propeller, but not enough (given I will only use it motoring within the marina at 2 knots) to justify pulling it out and having the shop machine a new one. Maybe I will live to regret it, but for now, easy on the throttle is the word. Note to self for next time they power wash the hull - close the sea cocks leading to the sinks and head.
Two coats of Micron Extra (Black) Anti-foul - a third on leading edges.
New Cutlass Bearing.
Oil and Filter Changed
Raw Cooling Water Pump Impeller Replaced.
Fuel Filter Replaced.
Ignition Switch Replaced.
V-Berth Cushion Covers Cleaned.
